Description
Kantishna Roadhouse (KRH) is a full-service, backcountry lodge located 90 miles into the pristine natural wonder of Denali National Park in a remote area where few are lucky enough to travel. Employees at the Roadhouse will find adventure, tranquility and an escape from every-day modern life. The season at Kantishna Roadhouse is from June 4th- September 12th and KRH is seeking candidates available to stay the entire season. Room and Board are provided during the season at no cost for this position.

JOB SUMMARY: KRH Rovers perform a variety of tasks and may be assigned to housekeeping, laundry, dining room, light maintenance or front desk. This is an entry-level position and Rovers will be trained in all departments with the goal of eventually being assigned to one or two primary departments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Housekeeping
• Empty trash
• Replenish supplies to guest rooms
• Change sheets and make beds
• Clean all bathroom showers, toilets, sinks, and floors
• Vacuum carpets
• Clean windows and blinds
• Sweep decks outside of cabins daily
• Collect, sort, clean, fold, and store laundry; Operate washing and drying equipment and maintain laundry room in a clean and orderly fashion
• Move furniture and hang drapes/blinds; when rollaway beds are requested, it is the responsibility of Housekeeping to move the beds in and out of the rooms
• Assist Font Desk staff in responding to guest requests; deliver housekeeping items to guest rooms
• Clean public areas including lobby, dining rooms, library, all restrooms, hallways, and offices
• Clean employee showers and restrooms daily; clean employee dining room, employee break room, and vacated employee housing units, as assigned
• Deep clean guest rooms and public areas when assigned during slow periods
• Other duties as assigned by the Lead Housekeeper
Wait staff
• Set dining room tables
• Assist with the plating of food
• Serve/clear food and beverages
• Clean the dining room
• Restock supplies
• Work with the food service team to complete certain kitchen tasks
• Other duties as assigned by the Dining Room Manager
Front Desk
• Greet, check-in, and check-out guests
• Address guest questions regarding our property, Denali National Park, and general Alaska related questions in an informed and courteous manner
• Tactfully handle guest complaints
• Accept payment for services and goods
• Report cash and deposits at the end of each shift
• Ensure cleanliness and a pleasant atmosphere in the front desk, lobby, and gift shop areas
• Generate housekeeping, maintenance, and baggage handling reports
• Organize and stock the gift shop and tracks inventory
• Other duties as assigned by the Front Desk Manager
Maintenance
• Mow lawns, water plants and assist in greenhouse
• Cleaning, painting and other light maintenance duties
• Other duties as assigned by Maintenance Lead

SUPERVISION:
• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum age 18 years
• Must have a current ADEC Alaska Food Worker Card
• If 21 years of age or older, must have a current TAMS certification to serve alcohol
• Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug screening tests
• One (1) year housekeeping, wait staff, or front desk experience preferred

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Kantishna Roadhouse is remotely located within Denali National Park. The individual will be working with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities.
