Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee.
These positions are represented by the Public Employees, Local 71 and are subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and Public Employees, Local 71.
DEPARTMENT: Eagle River/Chugiak Parks and Recreation
HOURS OF WORK: Tuesday through Saturday or Monday through Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
LOCATION: 12001 Business Boulevard, Ste 123, Eagle River
This is a seasonal, full-time position with an anticipated start date of May 13, 2019 and an approximate end date of September 28, 2019.
|Example of Duties:|
|Maintain, plant, transplant, prune, irrigate, and fertilize trees, lawns and shrubs at municipal sites. Maintain and operate associated tools and equipment. Design various flower bed content and color, implement planting of design along with routine maintenance schedule and other associated tasks as needed. Requires a leader knowledgeable in various flower/plant varieties and capable of providing direction to maintenance staff and volunteers as needed. Must be able to work outdoors daily in various changing weather conditions. Perform other related duties as assigned. |
|Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences:|
|High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and two (2) years of greenhouse, plant nursery, landscaper, gardener, grounds keeper, or other applicable experience. |
Must possess a valid State of Alaska driver's license at time of hire.
