Description

Reports to: Payment Reconciliation Officer

Functions Supervised: None.

Primary Functions: Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate completion of assigned general ledger reconciliations and operational support functions. Maintain documentation on the proper reconciliation process and workflow for each assigned account and operational support functions. Work with subject matter experts to clear outstanding reconciling items.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. For each assigned general ledger account, understand and update the documentation on the accounting workflow.
  2. Maintain and update, as needed, procedures for reconciling assigned general ledger accounts and operational support functions.
  3. Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts in a timely manner.
  4. Complete assigned operational support functions in a timely manner.
  5. Communicate and follow up on outstanding reconciling items with department subject matter experts for assigned accounts.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements

Education: Two years of college level Accounting or equivalent.

Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: Two years' experience in a similar position or completion of an accelerated accounting training program may be substituted for the two years of accounting education.

Experience/Skills: Accuracy in work output, ability to work independently, good mathematical and analytical skills is required. Knowledge of general accounting principles is required. Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Tenure: Payment Reconciliation Specialist III, Category 11, requires 12-24 months tenure in the Payment Reconciliation Specialist II position with performance that meets or exceeds expectations and is recommended by management.
