Brief Description
The Well Support Tech is responsible for assisting in all phases of well work/drilling support activities, including slick line, wire line, electric line, coiled tubing, fracs, well testing and all well stimulation operations.
Detailed Description
This position is responsible for the construction of hard line, set up and rig down of tanks, chokes, valves, manifolds, well head attachments, well house removal, installation and construction, pressure testing, and the installation and removal of blinds and piping. The Well Support Tech will also drive and operate heavy equipment to include vac trucks, tankers, super suckers and boom trucks. Other duties as assigned to include facility and operations support or assistance to other groups and departments.
* Must be familiar with hardline set ups, wireline and coiled tubing rig ups, tanks and consequent monitoring of fluid levels and must be familiar with fluid transfer and manifesting procedures.
* Must have experience with heavy equipment support to include rigging and securing loads, triplex pumps, diaphragm pumps.
* Able to perform work in cold and extreme weather conditions.
* Must be able to work day or night shift.
* Able to operate vac trucks, tankers, super suckers and driving on ice roads and ice covered gravel pads.
* Should be familiar with wells, wireline, downhole pumping and drilling fluid support loading and unloading liquids to include water, seawater, brine, mud, diesel and crude oil under fluid transfer guidelines and procedures.
* Monitor chokes, tanks, gauges on flow back and coil tubing rig ups.
* Perform pressure testing of hard line, pipe systems, freeze protection, and provide general support of well head work using hand tools, wrenches, and various electric and pneumatic tools.
* Maintain records, logs, and schedules of all requests and work orders.
* Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
* Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years or related training and experience required. Experience in the oil and gas industry and in the arctic environment essential.
Certifications
Current DOT Medical Card, Class A Commercial driver?s license with tanker and hazardous material endorsement required. All applicants must hold a valid driver?s license and meet the AES driving policy. North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification required. NCCCO small hydraulic crane/boom truck certification preferred. Boom Truck experience required.
