Brief Description
Position provides permitting/regulatory consultation services to include business development, proposal preparation, planning, directing and coordination of activities associated with environmental and regulatory projects in the mining, petroleum and government sectors.
Detailed Description
Management duties include ensuring that goals and objectives of projects are achieved within the prescribed time frame and funding limitations;
Specific duties may include data compilation and presentation;
Primary authorship of environmental reports;
Responsibility for development of regulatory authorization submittals and supporting documents for on-shore and/or offshore oil and gas projects;
Development of meeting presentations and support materials for internal or external presentation;
Development of short-term and long-term regulatory strategies; proposal and cost estimate preparation;
The project manager is responsible for communication, staffing, reporting, technical input, and allocation of resources to successfully complete projects;
Directs and coordinates teams of environmental and regulatory specialists in the preparation of multidisciplinary environmental reports;
Support the AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities and operations.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education and Experience
Position requires at least a Bachelor?s degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field with a minimum of 15 years of mining, petroleum and government sector permitting/regulatory experience. Demonstrated regulatory experience in similar industries may be considered.
Candidate must have relevant experience in permitting and/or regulatory affairs for federal, state and local government approvals. Specific experience with BOEMRE, NMFS, USFWS, BLM, ADNR, ADEC, ADF&G and North Slope Borough regulatory requirements is crucial. Experience with the NEPA process and preparation of NEPA documentation is necessary. Demonstrated experience in project management, business development and strategic planning is required.
Certifications
PMP Certification preferred.
Additional Details
Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience in Access, Visio and MS Project a plus.
