Jobing Description

Patrol of Corporation lands located in the northern Kodiak Island Archipelago covered under a Joint Land Use Agreement and enforcement of the Lands Use Regulations.

Assist in planning and implementing the land patrol and enforcement activities for all Afognak Native Corporation and other land holdings as assigned.

Assist in informing and promoting the Lands Use Plan to the known users of Corporation lands and the general public.

Work with public law enforcement officials in Afognak Native Corporation lands use related issues.

Install and maintain signs and other public notices related to the Land Use Plan and other Corporation land issues.

Document and report observed activities while on patrol to the appropriate senior management.

Provide recommendations for possible improvements to the Land Use Program.

Must maintain a neat appearance while working for and representing Afognak Native Corporation.

Clothing with Corporate identification will be provided by ANC and maintained by the employee.

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

1. Must be 21 years of age.

2. Must have good rapport with the public.

3. Must have knowledge of open water boat operations.

4. Required to pass random urinalysis tests.

5. Must be physically able to work long hours away from home and in adverse weather conditions.

6. Required to complete and pass a First Aid-CPR class.

7. Attend Alaska Law Enforcement Training (ALET) or similar training.

8. High school diploma or equivalent.

9. Good knowledge of business English, spelling and punctuation.

10. Must work well in team environment.

11. Must be able to meet deadlines and prioritize work effectively.

12. Periodic travel, both in-state and out-of-state, is required.

13. Must be timely in performance of job responsibilities.

14. Valid Driver s License and able to qualify as an authorized driver under the Corporation s established auto and insurance policy requirements.

Job Skills/Experience Preferred:

Law enforcement, security, or other related experience preferred.

USCG Masters license or ability to obtain one, preferred.

Applicant selected will be subject to a background/security investigation.
