Alaska Village Electric Cooperative, Inc. has an opening for a Distribution Technician or Engineer. Major duties include preparation of distribution work orders for efficient, expedient, and economical service for prospective members desiring new electrical service. Additional duties include the design of mostly overhead power lines including preparing staking sheets and cost estimates for line extensions, new services and system improvements; system inventories, record keeping, file maintenance, and finalizing work orders. High School diploma plus five (5) years electric utility experience at a similarly complex position are required. College level staking/surveying/engineering education or training is preferred. AutoCAD experience is desirable. Standard pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, background check as well as a post offer physical are required.
