Jobing Description
Purpose of Position: Assist in the preparation of transaction tax reports, to include sales and property taxes. Assist with various compliance reports and filings. Oversee the update of billing systems as needed to comply with tax rate changes. Research transaction tax issues and apply the research to arrive at a resolution. Provide support to the Accounting Senior Manager, including establishing and maintaining the Company‚s practices and procedures regarding transaction tax compliance.
Position‚s Customer(s): GCI customers, other GCI departments, transaction tax authorities and regulators.

Job Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Years of Experience required to meet minimum qualifications: Must have a minimum of 3 years progressively responsible experience in the general ledger group of an Accounting department, as a Financial Analyst or in a similar transaction tax role. Experience with compliance filings is preferred.
Level of education required to meet minimum qualifications:
High School or GED required. BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or related major required.

Position reports to: Senior Accounting Manager

Physical Requirements: Ability to perform sedentary work. Physical effort may include stooping, kneeling, touching, feeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Clarity of vision to see near, mid-range, and color. Ability to carry up to 30 LBS. Hearing is sufficient to perform job duties.
Working Conditions: Inside office work. Work posture will generally require sitting upright at an office cubicle working at a PC in a climate-controlled space. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Overtime is required when necessary. Must work well in a team environment and be able to work with a diverse group of people and customers.
